About the author

Meet Clayton L. Hinkle

Clayton L. Hinkle grew up immersed in pulp adventure fiction, science fiction, horror, crime, and history. His interests also extended to high strangeness, the paranormal, UFOs, Bigfoot, and anything unusual, alongside a lifelong appreciation for comics. These diverse influences helped shape his fascination with strange stories, mysterious encounters, and imaginative worlds.
An artist at heart, Hinkle always dreamed of becoming an illustrator. Over time, he also began exploring the possibility of telling stories through words. For him, writing offers another way to express his creativity without leaving illustration behind. He believes there are many ways to create, and putting words on paper has become another avenue for bringing his ideas to life.
In Of Cavemen and Donuts, Hinkle combines his love of the unexplained with quirky characters, suspense, and humor. Through Manfred “Man-Cave” Jones and the strange events unfolding in Winnetka Bay, he invites readers into a world where mystery and the unexpected go hand in hand. And while writing is now part of his creative journey, Hinkle leaves the door open to future possibilities, including a book that might bring his words and illustrations together.
